As part of the third event, the workshop “Online Webinar with Experts: Truth in a Post-Truth Society”, the project leader, “In the Name of the Family”, has officially launched the DECIDE – Democratic E-platform. The platform is an interactive, English-language online space that enables citizens across the European Union to engage in structured debates and discussions on key policy issues. The platform reflects insights gathered through project activities and a dedicated survey, highlighting the priorities and concerns of participating citizens.
Prominent topics
Among the most prominent topics identified were the protection of fundamental values, including respect for human dignity, as well as the safeguarding of democracy and freedom of expression. Participants also emphasized the importance of enhanced cooperation at EU level in the areas of migration and border management, as well as the need to promote an environment that supports innovation, entrepreneurship, and economic competitiveness.
To address these priorities, the platform is structured around four key thematic areas:
- Bureaucracy, entrepreneurial spirit and innovation, prosperous and competitive Europe;
- Migration, border management, strong and secure Europe
- Standing up for democracy and freedom of expression;
- Respect for human dignity.
In addition, the platform integrates an AI-based system that provides users with real-time access to information, explanations, and multilingual support, thereby facilitating more informed and inclusive discussions.
Citizens across the EU are encouraged to join the platform and contribute their questions, comments, and ideas to an active dialogue among EU citizens and to the broader development of democratic debate on key issues affecting EU residents. By fostering open dialogue and civic engagement, the platform aims to support the development of a more participatory and resilient European democracy.
